| HONEYWELL
INTRODUCES LOW COST SMART PRESSURE TRANSDUCER
|
| |
| MINNEAPOLIS,
APRIL 7, 1998-Honeywell
today introduced to United Kingdom /German
industries the fully CE-compliant smart Precision
Pressure Transducer (PPT) for high accuracy
gas pressure measurements. |
| |
| The
PPT features 0.05 percent of full scale typical
accuracy including temperature effects at
a very competitive price. The built-in signal
compensation greatly simplifies the task of
the designer requiring high accuracy over
temperature. Applications for this product
include air data for avionics, barometric
metrology measurements, calibration equipment
and turbine test stands. |
| |
| All
PPTs have both analog and RS232 or RS485 serial
digital outputs. The 0-5 volt output allows
the transducer to easily retrofit to analog
systems. The serial output provides the user
capability to network up to 89 units on a
single bus, to interface directly to a PC
or other data acquisition system, and to address
and customize individual units. Customization
can be implemented using a simple set of commands
from any PC with a factory-supplied cable
connecting the PPT to the PC's communications
port. Options include user-selectable update
rate, deadband and analog voltage range. The
smart PPT can automatically increase its update
rate if a rapid change of pressure is sensed,
and will set flags for out-of-range pressure
or temperature conditions. |
| |
| The
Honeywell PPT uses industry-leading silicon
sensor technology developed for Honeywell's
well-known industrial and avionics control
systems. The sensing technology at the heart
of this transducer offers unmatched reliability
and stability. Proprietary digital signal
compensation techniques provide the excellent
accuracy over temperature and enable digital
communication. |
| |
| The
PPT complies with CE Standards EN50081-1-1992
and EN50082-1-1992, Electromagnetic Compatibility
- Generic Emissions and Immunity Standards,
Part I: Residential, Commercial and Light
Industrial, and Electromagnetic Compatibility
Directive 89/336/EEC as amended by 92/31/EEC
and 93/68/EEC. |
| |
| Honeywell's
Solid State Electronics Center manufactures
PPT products at its facility in Minneapolis,
Minnesota. The Center also manufactures a
family of magnetic sensors and high temperature
electronics. |
